Everything Is Okay
Not headlong, not down with fate
nor hurtling in great metal hulks toward
obvious end or even sideways oblivion,
not in denial.
Everything is fine.
Today, we’re aspiring chicks
under the warming lamp
of an orderly something, call it
nuclear-atomic, breathing still.
